Constructing Hope’s First Annual “Contractors Lock – Down” Fundraiser

Constructing Hope invites you to join us in our first annual “Contractors Lock-Down” fundraiser where participants will be held in Lock-Down until their bail bond has been paid.

Time:  11:00 am – 2:00 pm

Location:  McMenamins at the Kennedy School – Gymnasium

Participants will enjoy Italian Buffet while calling their friends, co-workers and others in order to raise their bail bond.  Bond is set at $500.00 for each participant.  Goal for this event is to raise $25,000 to help fund our general operations including: basic tools and equipment for class and to complete community projects.

Constructing Hope means that we are in the business of rebuilding the lives of people in our community by encouraging self-sufficiency through skills training and education in the construction industry.  Constructing Hope serves the greater Portland Area community of minorities, low income and people coming from incarceration by offering training and designing programs to make them confident, skilled and productive members of society. To date we have conducted outreach to over 1,000 individuals, trained 158 men and women and conducted ongoing case management with ninety-seven participants.  Our graduates are 56% African American, 26% White, 11% Latino and 7% Native American.
