Fire Alarm Test and Inspection trainee position  someone that enjoys working as team and with our customers to ensure that all requests are handled correctly and to the highest standards for a positive experience. 

Contract temporary to begin with – 1-3 months. Based on performance, may be asked to join company in a regular, full-time capacity. The shift for this role will be M-F and may work a day shift, or swing shift. $18-$22/hr to start DOE. 

What you will be doing: 

  • Assist inspection and testing of all types of fire alarm systems 
  • Occasionally assist inspection and testing of all types of emergency/exit light systems 
  • Assisting/coordinating with all forms of life safety system testing 
  • Maintain equipment and tools necessary to safely perform job 
  • Work in compliance with the Company’s safety program 
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures as well as local, state, and federal regulations and laws 
  • Maintains punctual, regular, and predictable attendance 
  • Works collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation 
  • Respectfully takes direction from manager 
  • Other duties as assigned 

Education & Experience 

  • High School diploma or equivalent 
  • Intermediate Computer/Windows PC/MS Office Suite/Apple technology required 
  • Valid state issued driver’s license with acceptable driving record required 
  • NICET 1 (Fire Alarm Systems or Fire Alarm Test and Inspect), to be obtained within 1 years from date of hire 
  • Must possess strong problem-solving skills 
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail 
  • Follow oral and written directions 
  • Provide excellent customer service 
  • Familiarity with basic hand tools such as hammers, wrenches, screwdrivers, etc. 
  • Communicate effectively with coworkers, management, and customers, and display excellent interpersonal skills and awareness of controversial and/or sensitive issues 
  • Comply with safety requirements of the position and actively promote safe work practices 
  • Self-motivated and ability to work independently 
  • Proper business English usage, spelling, grammar, and punctuation 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Ability to calculate basic math including fractions, percentages, and decimals 
  • Knowledge and ability to understand and operate basic computer functions, operating systems, and software applications such as Windows, Word, Apple IOS, Android, and Outlook. In addition, required to learn and use industry specific devices and software 
  • Intermediate knowledge of computer/windows PC/MS Office Suite 

Physical and Mental Demands 

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds unassisted 
  • Frequently lift and carry toolboxes, tools, equipment, parts, cabling, and/or wiring 
  • Must be able to push or pull up to 50 pounds 
  • Frequent ladder climbing, often while carrying up to 50 pounds 
  • Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, twisting, and stretching
