Constructing Hope Announces Retirement of Executive Director Patricia Daniels

Portland, OR – Constructing Hope Pre-Apprenticeship Program formally announces that its Founder and Executive Director, Patricia Daniels, plans to retire at the end of this year after 18 years of transformative leadership, unwavering passion, and deep commitment to the organization’s mission and the community it serves.

The mission of Constructing Hope is to rebuild the lives of people in our community by encouraging self-sufficiency through skills training and education in the construction industry. Constructing Hope serves people of color, people coming from incarceration, and low-income adults.

Since 2007, Constructing Hope has served over 1,000 individuals by offering comprehensive support that includes professional development, soft skills training, hands-on construction experience, industry certifications, and expungement services.

Pat Daniels has been the driving force behind this work since the beginning. Her visionary leadership and belief in the potential of every individual helped shape Constructing Hope into the organization it is today. She has led with integrity and an unwavering commitment to the mission and, most importantly, those who need the services of this organization most.

It has been the honor of my professional life to serve Constructing Hope,” says Daniels. “When you love what you do, it isn’t work. It was my gift to serve this mission and to witness others succeed. My wish is for everyone to find what they love, because that’s the key to success. It’s not about me, it’s about us—and together, we can do anything.

The Board of Directors has initiated a comprehensive process to identify Daniels’ successor and ensure a smooth leadership transition.
