“The Foundation of a Rewarding Career”

“It was a landslide of good things happening after Constructing Hope.”

Max Jewett came to Constructing Hope ready to build a career. After his incarceration, Max came to CH seeking a foundation to build a successful and lasting future. Today, he is a fourth-year apprentice with Local 36 and the winner of Oregon’s Local Master Apprentice Competition.

He credits Constructing Hope for providing the essential certifications and letters of recommendation that gave him the entry he needed into his apprenticeship. “Constructing Hope knocked down the hurdles,” Max shared. “Unions can often be a closed community, and Constructing Hope really opened the doors.

After recently placing in the top ten at the National Master Apprentice Competition in Las Vegas, Max emphasizes the opportunities available in the construction industry, noting that they are not highlighted enough. “This industry is so rewarding and there is so much room for advancement,” said Max. “I think a lot of people would be better off but just don’t hear about the opportunities in the trades.

Max is empowered by the dedication and investment he sees from the people he works with and has found his future at Local 36 Heat and Frost Insulators.
